Concert Series: Splendors of the Baroque, “Improvvisato!”

Join Columbia Baroque with guest artist Hazel Ketchum, lutenist as they present music by Vivaldi, Scarlatti, Schmelzer and more. Gail Ann Schroeder will be featured playing a recently discovered Telemann Fantasia for solo gamba.

Guest Artist, Hazel Ketchum, lutenist, returns to Columbia Baroque for this extravaganza concert of music by Vivaldi, Scarlatti, Schmelzer, and more.  The program features a recently discovered Telemann Fantasia for solo gamba in which Gail Ann Schroeder is featured. Improvvisato! refers to Italian-style ornamentation where performers improvise flourishes and embellishments that add beauty and personal expression to the music.
