One Columbia for Arts and Culture in partnership with the Koger Center for the Arts and WIS News 10 host the Columbia City Mayoral Candidate Forum on Arts and Culture on September 8, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.
The forum offers candidates an opportunity to communicate their arts-specific platforms, and provide residents, artists, and arts organizations the chance to hear directly from the candidates before the election. The arts are a vital part of the city’s success and it is important that there are discussions highlighting issues directly related to the arts and creative practitioners. At this time, all announced City of Columbia mayoral candidates have confirmed their attendance.
The Mayoral Candidate forum will be moderated by Judi Gatson, the award-winning anchor of WIS News Live at 5, WIS News at 6 and WIS News at 11. Candidates will be presented with a series of questions about how the arts contribute to Columbia’s development, the role of artists, public support for the arts, and each candidate’s vision for arts and culture in our city.
The forum will take place as an in-person event on September 8, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at the Koger Center. The event will also be streamed HERE for those that prefer not to attend in person.
