To mark the centennial of the Armistice ending World War I, join us for Xavier Beauvois’s 2017 film Les Gardiennes / The Guardians. An adaptation of Ernest Pérochon’s 1924 novel of the same name, the film centers on women in rural France keeping up the home front. Starring Nathalie Baye, her daughter Laura Smet, and Iris Bry. Rated R. 138 minutes, in French with English subtitles. Reception offered by the Alliance Française of Columbia.
