Batik Workshop with Artist Mary Edna Fraser

WHAT:
The Columbia Museum of Art offers the opportunity to learn the art of batik dyeing from one of the artists featured in Independent Spirits: Women Artists of South Carolina. Bringing 35 years of experience to this two-day workshop, master dyer and educator Mary Edna Fraser works with participants to help them realize their design ideas. Using procion dyes, Fraser demonstrates the ancient processes of layering color through painterly techniques and other tricks of the trade.
