Creating with a flat slab of clay is one of the most versatile pottery techniques, applicable to beginning through intermediate artists. In this three-part workshop, students use slabs to make a variety of works, from tiles to serving pieces, bowls, cups, and pitchers, incorporating decorative elements by adding or subtracting clay. Then add color to the fired pieces using a wide range of methods. Taught by local educator Clare Scurry. Ages 15 and up. All materials and equipment provided.
