Archaeological Society of South Carolina Annual Conference

Our Annual Conference covers many topics in SC archaeology, but this year we will have an afternoon session that may be of special interest to the arts community. In the 19th century potters in the Old Edgefield District decorated jugs and cups with molded human faces. These are highly valued by collectors and scholars, as African-American artisans are known to have made many of them.
