American Tribal style belly dance is influenced by movements and music of the Middle East, but it is an American invention. It shares many common movements with Middle Eastern dance but it places much more emphasis on group performance and smooth and undulating movements and turns.

Maria Palacio is an ATS certified instructor since 2011, teaching ATS in Columbia since 2010. She continues her training with master ATS instructors in San Francisco and throughouth the east coast through workshops/private lessons. She continues to master her technique to become a better teacher to her students.
