BYO wine or favorite beverage and an article of clothing that you would like to share with the Zoom gathering. Or just show up with the beverage of choice and discuss her current project. Initially, topics will include getting started, rituals and cultivating space for creative practice.
Martha Brim believes that all bodies dance and says, “My spine is my tool. Humanity is my material. And my process is a serious discipline of play.” Join Martha for a relaxed and creative session from your own comfort zone.
Martha Brim is a choreographer, educator, and arts professional whose artistry is influenced by her early training as a visual artist and voice student, early dance training in ballet and now draws from body/mind investigations, various somatic practices, a strong foundation in feminist theory, and many days of digging in the dirt. After 35 years as a dance professor at Columbia College in South Carolina, Martha has produced a rich legacy of creativity, mentoring multiple generations of dance students and artists across disciplines. She continues as artistic director of The Power Company Collaborative, instigating large-scale performance installations involving musicians, designers, and artists as co-creators.
