Acrylic Palette Knife Painting with Alicia Leeke

Using acrylic paint and canvas, we will mix and blend colors to create a simple palette knife painting. After a demo by the instructor students will learn expressive, painterly techniques to become more skillful and confident in their use of a palette knife.

Students to bring: Basic Acrylic paint (Starter Set: Red, Yellow, Blue, White, Black, Green any brand) or colors of your choosing, styrofoam plates for mixing paint, a brush if you prefer mixing paint that way, a pencil for drawing, paper towels and one of the following: gesso board or canvas and a palette knife style of your choosing. Students should bring with them a vacation photograph or photo of a place or thing they shot with their own camera.
