The Skipp Pearson Jazz Foundation was created to preserve, and to promote the artform of Live Jazz Music through the presentation of a myriad of public education programs and projects. The primary objective of the Foundation mission and its various divisions is to discover, develop, train and enhance the lives of all persons within its target audience by providing on-going projects and programs that foster cultural literacy and public arts education. Additionally, the Foundation seeks to advocate, and to foster the highest level of training excellence and technical standards available to young performers desiring a career in the performing and visual arts. The Foundation seeks to support career track pre-professional musical and visual artists for the benefit of enriching the "quality of life “in all communities. Finally, the Foundation endeavors through its mission and various divisions to serve as an ambassador to the State of South Carolina and especially the City of Columbia.
