Jamie Peterson

Portraitist, Live Event Painter, Illustrator.

Born and raised in Minnesota and after having traveled a good chunk of the world, I’ve melted into Southern living here in Columbia (it’s hot down here!). I have been drawing and painting since childhood and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to work as an artist. I am a proud member of the Trenholm Artists Guild (TAG) and the U.S. Veteran Artists Association (USVAA). I often paint in a series format, working an idea out in a dozen or more pieces. I happy jump between media: oils, watercolor, ink, and occasionally acrylics. I love to make things pretty and I’m not ashamed to say it. Connecting with people over their pets and being surrounded by celebrating families while painting live at weddings are up there in my favorite experiences. I recently wrapped up my first picture book, The Unknown Soldier, and I am looking for more illustration opportunities, so let me know what is on your mind. Always open for commissions!
