Mandy Applegate

Artist Statement

Mandy Applegate is a multi disciplinary artist based in the Midlands of SC. Her experience spans many areas of the arts such as theatre, film, music, visual art, writing, dance, and more. Mandy is also a teaching artist, and has lent her expertise to organizations such as One Columbia, Richland County Public Library, and Midlands Tech, as well as theatres, schools, and dance studios. She recently taught as a guest artist with One Columbia's Technical Theatre initiative, focusing on careers in makeup artistry for stage and screen. She was a finalist for Jasper Theatre Artist of the Year in 2017. Mandy is also an herbalist, chef, yoga instructor, and has received advanced training in Trauma Informed practices and resources, and would love to bring this work to local art houses and spaces in an initiative to bridge the gap between artists and art creation spaces to encourage safety in our arts communities.
