Artist Statement
My creative process begins with observation—seeing l ight, form, and emotion in everyday moments—and translating that energy into visual expression. I am drawn to oi ls, acryl ics, watercolor, and charcoal because each medium offers a distinct voice: oi ls al low for depth and layering, acryl ics bring immediacy and bold color, watercolor invites spontaneity and fluidity, and charcoal captures raw emotion through l ine and value.
At the heart of my work is the desire to explore connection—between people and their environments, between inner landscapes and outward expression. My Christian faith also guides and motivates my process. I see art as a reflection of creation itself: an act of bringing l ight, order, and meaning into the world. This perspective grounds my practice in purpose and gives each piece a sense of reverence and hope.
I use traditional tools l ike brushes, palette knives, and paper, but I also embrace experimentation, often layering textures or blending media to push the boundaries of a single technique. Photography and videography inform my process as well, giving me a way to frame perspective, capture fleeting inspiration, and document the act of creating itself.
