An intimate gallery talk with artist Santiago Echeverry on his work “Cabaret: Unsung Heroes.”
Enjoy an intimate gallery talk with Colombian-American artist Santiago Echeverry in his exhibition Cabaret: Unsung Heroes, which captures the memories, lives, motions, experiences, and appearances of the LGBT community of Fort Lauderdale and Wilton Manors, Florida. Using 3D space-capturing sensors, he creates large-format prints, videos, and real-time installations portraying unsung heroes of his adopted cities, exploring their uniqueness and charisma in a political era marked by contention, oppression, and divisiveness.
This exhibition is presented as a part of Indie Grits, themed this year as Visiones. Visiones is inspired by the rapid and growing migration from Latin America that is changing the face of the American Southeast.
Free.
