A community-based event aims to present the richness and variety of indigenous cinematic expressions. Primarily the festival is a time to educate folks about contemporary Native American talent and issues, Native theme documentaries and to discuss film and the power it has to tell Native Stories by Native people and to entertain. Goals are to help with sales and exposure to Native American Indian Filmmakers and Native/indigenous talent. The major categories for this festival include: Documentary Feature, Documentary Short, Commercial Feature, Short Subject, Music Video, Animated Short Subject, Student Film, Public Service, and Industrial. Documentaries are invited from any field of ethnographic, anthropological, analytical approach to indigenous cultures and Native American Indian societies. Sponsored by The Eastern Cherokee, Southern Iroquois & United Tribes of South Carolina, Inc. In collaboration with the USC Multicultural Student Affairs, Newberry College and the Nickelodeon Theater of Columbia Film Society. This year we will feature short films, feature films, student films, documentaries and music videos.
