Superpower is an exhibition of drawings by Chad Penner for his MFA Thesis Exhibition at the University of South Carolina.

Superpower explores the relationship between the idea of American exceptionalism and America’s intimate relationship with violence. Chad Penner’s lifelong interest in superheroes and comics affords a lens through which to question cultural and racial violence in America, combining social commentary with superhero imagery in monumental charcoal drawings.
